Description

This track shows the classification of the genome into 5 discrete domains based on the DamID binding profiles of 53 chromatin proteins in Drosophila Kc167 cells. The characteristics of each of the five states are summarized below:

StateDescriptionColor
GreenClassic (including pericentric) heterochromatin
BluePolycomb Group (PcG) chromatin; subject to epigenetic silencing
BlackTranscriptionally silent (in cell type assayed); probably dynamic
RedTranscriptionally active euchromatin; genes usually developmentally regulated
YellowTranscriptionally active euchromatin; genes usually broadly expressed
